COMMUNITY

The heart of the JPII Commons is the Catholic Newman Center that it offers. The Newman Center, located in the sprawling bottom floor, forms an integral part of the JPII Commons. JPII Commons is a place in the heart of KC for college students to call home.

The 3 Pillars of the JPII Commons are community, friendship, and mission.

Support your mind, body, heart and soul at JPII. The Newman Center will offer frequent sacraments, events, study spaces, student lounge + kitchen, movie theater, 24/7 Eucharistic adoration chapel, and a gym with exercise equipment.

Community: The JP2 Commons strives to foster authentic community among all students who cross our threshold.  Social events: barbecues, dinners, movie nights, sports watch parties, and perhaps even a dance or two in our incredible outdoor courtyard space.

Friendship: The JP2 Commons is committed to providing students with opportunities to grow in authentic friendship. In the first place, this means a friendship with Jesus Christ, followed by Christ-rooted friendships with others.

Mission: The Great Commission of Jesus Christ, to “go and make disciples of all nations,” is at the heart of the JPII Commons. We seek to form students to be bold and passionate about spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world. There will be formation opportunities for learning about the Catholic faith, mission trips, and service opportunities.
